ESL Paraprofessional
Job Posting for ESL Paraprofessional at Southeastern Regional
The Position: Southeastern is seeking an ESL Paraprofessional who is fluent in Spanish for the 24-25 school year. Paraprofessionals work closely with the classroom teacher to assist multilingual students through a variety of educational strategies, technology, and materials. This is a full-time, school year position that reports to the Vice Principal of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in working with multilingual high school students;
- Prior experience working as a paraprofessional and/or working with multilingual students (preferred, not required);
- Ability to use technology in support of student learning; or
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Support multilingual learners in the academic and vocational classroom to access curriculum content and to build language proficiency
- Communicate with families (phone calls and meetings) who speak Spanish to assist in the Translation Center to encourage two-way communication and a sense of belonging for multilingual families
- Build positive rapport with students to encourage achievement and effort
- Complete other duties, as assigned
