Job Posting for ESL Paraprofessional at Southeastern Regional
The Position: Southeastern is seeking an ESL Paraprofessional who is fluent in Spanish for the 24-25 school year. Paraprofessionals work closely with the classroom teacher to assist multilingual students through a variety of educational strategies, technology, and materials. This is a full-time, school year position that reports to the Vice Principal of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish
A high school diploma or equivalent;
Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in working with multilingual high school students;
Prior experience working as a paraprofessional and/or working with multilingual students (preferred, not required);
Ability to use technology in support of student learning; or
Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities:
Support multilingual learners in the academic and vocational classroom to access curriculum content and to build language proficiency
Communicate with families (phone calls and meetings) who speak Spanish to assist in the Translation Center to encourage two-way communication and a sense of belonging for multilingual families
Build positive rapport with students to encourage achievement and effort
