POSITION TITLE: Music Industry Faculty

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time Faculty

REPORTS TO: Chair of School of Music

DEPARTMENT: School of Music

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree in music or equivalent professional experience.
2. Significant experience performing in a commercial music setting, for example as a
recording and/or touring artist/musician.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Evidence of experience teaching music courses at the secondary or collegiate level (evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level preferred).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The SEU School of Music seeks a full-time professor to teach, oversee, and manage various
aspects of the music industry program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teaching
introductory music technology and music business courses; directing the contemporary band;
oversight of the inventory and use of music technology hardware and software; oversight of
music technology coursework and the adjunct faculty teaching it; recruitment; mentoring and
advising music students; assisting in other School of Music and university duties as needed.

Salary and Rank: Commensurate with experience.

Starting Date: The successful candidate will receive a full-time teaching contract beginning 7/1/2024 through 6/30/2025, eligible for annual renewal.
