POSITION: Student Assistant for Campus Life & Event Services
CLASSIFICATION: Student Worker, Part-Time, Hourly
REPORTS TO: Director of Housing & Campus Card / Event Services Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Campus Life & Event Services
POSITION SUMMARY: The Student Assistant for Campus Life & Event Services will support the daily functions of the Housing department and will assist Event Services as needed while maintaining a professional demeanor, appearance, and confidentiality at all times.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
A minimum of one year at Southeastern University
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
Assists the Housing Department in administering certain aspects of student housing:
Room inspections
Damage inspections
Information logging
Damage reporting and tracking
Check-in and Check-out procedures
Assists the Housing department and Resident Directors concerning the following areas of campus housing: Housing application process for current and incoming students
Residence Hall preparation prior to check-in
Involved in daily residence and housing tasks
Serves as a liaison to the students for housing needs
Conducts monthly room inspections of all residence halls for cleanliness and locating facility damage. This duty will require confrontational skills and integral decision making skills.
Works directly with the Director of Housing & Campus Card in the damage control process.
Works to educate residents in proper care of campus facilities.
Performs office duties in the absence of Housing or Campus Card personnel (phone calls, emails, etc.)
Performs all additional duties assigned by the Director of Housing & Campus Card.
Assists Event Services with both SEU and rental events, including but not limited to set up, tear down, & customer services

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Some experience in the field of higher education with exposure to the field of student housing, campus facility management, and/or student development is desired.
Basic computer experience required with some degree of proficiency in word processing and database software. (Word, Excel, Access)
