Automotive Shop Custodian - Southern Auto Group

We are looking for an Automotive Janitorial Technician to add to our team.  Someone that is not only concerned about to look of the area, but also cares about the safety of those working in the shop.  You will be responsible for completing tasks efficiently and effectively.  A great Janitorial Technician sees an issue before it becomes a problem.  The goal is to ensure that the shop runs smoothly and safely to maximize performance and productivity through cleanliness and order.  

Your ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, follow instructions, estimate needed materials for job completion, and time required for various jobs is also a requirement.  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience as a semiskilled or skilled worker in maintenance, repair, painting, and/or relative activity is a plus.  
 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment for yourself and others
• Possess a thorough understanding of tools, safety equipment, and their proper uses
• Must have a valid Driver's License and pass a driver's background check
• Clean driving record
• Can pass drug screening and background check

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will be responsible for completing tasks efficiently and effectively
• A great building maintenance technician is well-organized with strong skills in multi-tasking
• Inspect facilities for functionality and safety
• Maintain facilities by cleaning, polishing, organizing, and replacing materials
• Provide assistance to building managers in emergency situations
• Conduct general upkeep procedures such as painting, electrical wiring, etc
• Perform other tasks assigned by the property manager or building manager (e.g. scheduling of trades)
• Communicate effectively with the manager of the facility (e.g. about emergencies)
• Performs related tasks as required

This is an in-person position and attendance is required in order to maintain employment.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
