Career Services Coordinator

The Career Services Coordinator is responsible for online placement and will source job orders and connect graduates to employers. In addition, you will provide career guidance, support, information and skills training and develop new employer partnerships and drive graduate placement outcomes.

Responsibilities include:
- Build effective relationships with employers to identify employment and externship opportunities;
- Develop and implement plans and strategies to achieve graduate employment goals;
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship with students for the duration of their program;
- Plan and conduct “Level Up” workshops on career topics;
- Actively maintain an awareness of employment and industry trends;
- Maintain contact with graduates by generating follow-up calls, e-mails, texts, etc. to ensure accurate and timely updates of graduates’ employment information in Student Administrative System;
- Maintain accurate employment statistics as required by governing bodies and properly document within the Student Administrative System;
- Plan and deploy marketing strategies to identify and cultivate a diverse group of potential externship sites in various industries and sectors;
- Maintain Documentation in Student Administrative System and provide weekly updates on the following: Site contacts, affiliation agreements, site requests, student contacts, externship to placement conversion ratio;
- Assign students to externship experiences that match skill sets;
- Communicate externship site requirements to students prior to externship and ensure all requirements are met before externship commences;
- Prepare graduates with specific technical skill sets; including a marketable resume, tech interview, white boarding, linked–in and GitHub profiles etc.;
- Analyze graduate’s abilities and culture fit with employer partners;
- Keep up to date with new technological trends and products;
- Build strategic relationships with employers, non-profits, government organizations, and community partners in states where student majority reside;
- Maintain contact with employers, and coordinate placement activities (resume submittals, interviews, etc.). Document all employer relations activities in the Student Administrative System;
- Responsible for online placement outcomes. Achieve Placement of >85%.
SCI has been changing lives for over 50 years, now and we’re just getting started. We offer certification-based training with programs in Medical, Business, Cosmetology, Skilled-Trades and Technology with campuses spanning across central and south Texas as well as online. Our students can graduate most of our programs in under one year and with real-world experience under their belt.
