What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Associate Night Shift position at SOUTHERN CHAMPION TRAY LLC?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Works with the Shipping Clerk with regard to unloading and loading trailers, fulfilling orders, wrapping pallets, stacking, labeling, and other related activities as they pertain to warehousing and fulfilling customer orders.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Assist in performing the shipping and receiving operation in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program.
- Responsible to maintain the procedures concerning operation unless the training program is changed and properly recorded concerning procedure
- Load and unload all trailers and containers, seeing that they are first properly locked and chocked
- Fulfill customer orders with the use of an RF handheld
- Back-up the Shipping Clerk
- Load the trailer accurately concerning proper sequence, products, and weight distribution as directed
- Operate stand-up forklift or other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Restack pallets that have fallen in the warehouse and in the transfer process
- Unload all returned finished goods and move them to the damage and return area
- Keep the work area clean and orderly, including articles that fall outside in the daily loading and unloading, primarily focusing on the shipping and staging area
- Report any mechanical problems with equipment or any safety hazards in the performance of your duties
- Maintain order in the manufacturing and warehouse storing areas in the performance of your duties
- Unload all deliveries or shipments from outside vendors, inspect quality, quantity, and condition of all shipments, and record on paperwork
- Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation
- Perform daily forklift checklist and routine maintenance on equipment including cleaning equipment
- Be a Certified Forklift operator, and carry a copy of your certification with you
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read a tape measure, and have an understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must become a Certified powered industrial equipment operator in accordance with SCT training and carry a copy of your certification with you.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with arms and hands. Frequently required to climb, balance, twist, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, frequently must lift/move 25 to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with a 30-minute meal break any other applicable breaks during his/her shift) on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
