Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling transportation services to ensure timely delivery of goods. Your role will involve utilizing GPS and fleet management systems, as well as phone systems, to efficiently manage logistics and transportation planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in dispatching and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Duties:
- Receive and process customer orders for transportation services
- Coordinate with drivers
- Utilize GPS and fleet management systems to track vehicles and monitor routes
- Communicate with drivers to provide necessary instructions or updates on routes or schedules
- Ensure all necessary documentation, such as bills of lading or delivery receipts, are accurately completed
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation operations
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including driver logs and vehicle maintenance records
- Assist with data entry tasks related to dispatch operations
Experience:
- Previous experience in a dispatching role preferred
- Familiarity with GPS and fleet management systems
- Proficiency in using phone systems for communication purposes
- Knowledge of logistics and transportation planning processes
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail
This is a full-time position offering competitive pay.
