POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The Facilities Associate is responsible for preventive maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of all building systems. The Facilities Associate will ensure camp property, buildings, infrastructure, and equipment are safe and maintained to the highest standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Promptly respond to requests for maintenance needs.
- Work with supervisors to prioritize requests and workload.
- Inspects buildings, grounds, and equipment for any unsafe conditions and addressees necessary needs without delay.
- Responsible for upkeep and cleanliness of garage area, maintenance equipment, storage areas, and truck.
- Responsible for grounds work including mowing, weed waking, etc.
- Adhere to safety standards (including OSHA) and emergency procedures.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend equipment/service upgrades.
- Maintain logs and records, manually and/or electronically.
- Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with the organization.
- Assist with facilities and maintenance needs across Southern District YMCA as needed.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED with three-five years of related facilities maintenance experience.
• Knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry and HVAC a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Clean driving record.
• Basic tractor experience a plus.
• Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Personal values consistent with the YMCA mission and core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Strong organizational time management skills.
• Flexibility in schedule to resolve emergency situations outside of regular working hours.

• Must be able to complete YMCA required trainings as scheduled by management.
• Maintain updated certifications of the job (CPR & First Aid). Trainings are provided by YMCA Camp Lincoln.
• Ability to respond calmly to critical incidents and act swiftly in emergency situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding required.
• Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
• Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
• Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
• Ability to view and enter data for long periods of time.
Salary : $17 - $22
