What You Need To Know
Overview
Assist with the development, implementation and improvement of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and objectives for the warehouse, depots and offices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide EHS documentation and recordkeeping support such as data entry, copying and filing in order to keep EHS records current
- Assist with the preparation of materials for the monthly EHS Committee Meetings and State Calls
- Assist with developing site specific EHS written procedures
- Post weekly safety and incident sharing messages as well as bi-weekly raffle questions
- Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify specific areas of focus for improvement and enter findings into Injury Management System.
- Participate in facility inspections to identify specific areas of focus for improvement and submit findings to corporate via google docs
- Assist with the improvement of EHS training based on incident investigations, inspection findings and other EHS metrics and perform new hire safety training orientations as needed
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis compliance observations to identify updates and/or improvements
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and implementing leading indicator incentives to reduce unsafe behaviors
- Understand the EHS requirements (EPA/OSHA, State, Local County, SGWS) applicable to the locations in the State
- Perform other EHS job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and/or Safety or a related field
- Ability and willingness to obtain OSHA 501 and at least one of the following EHS Certifications (STS, SMS, OHST, ASP, CSP, CHMM, etc)
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid
- Willingness to to maintain flexible working hours, and occasional travel as needed, <20%
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor)
- Physical demands with activity or condition include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping in a non climate controlled environment.
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
