Overview
The Business Solution Analyst will have the opportunity to learn all facets of the business as they delve into business processes in support of national initiatives as well as, helping to identify efficiency opportunities in and across the 44 States in which we operate.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with corporate functional areas including Information Technology, Finance/Accounting, Shared Services Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business Intelligence, Legal, as well as, divisional/state Sales and Distribution Center personnel
- Support back-office functions, work collaboratively and cross-functionally with the Commercial, Operational, Financial and Strategic leaders to identify opportunities for increased efficiencies in standardization, cost reduction, compliance with corporate standards and the promotion of best practices across the company
- Understand how different functional areas interact with various software and tools to complete a task (e.g. order entry, customer service, sales force automation tools, pricing tools, warehouse automation tools, delivery, finance/accounting, business intelligence, etc.) and make recommendations to improve process or tools
- Gather information, perform discovery, and document current business processes to build business cases that drive efficiency, process improvement, and ensure cross-functional synergy across the organization
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with senior management and serve as a consultant on findings and present recommendations with substantial supporting materials
- Gather data and create ad hoc reports to determine metrics, scorecards, etc. in support of executive management and the business unit
- Understanding and learning the distribution industry and functional area operations
- Special projects as needed
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related discipline
- Minimum of a year of professional/relevant work experience (internships will be considered towards professional work experience)
- Experience working with Statistics, Quantitative Methods of Business and/or Information Technology desired
- Working knowledge of extracting data from a database (knowledge of relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) is a strong plus)
- Experience with large Enterprise Reporting Tools such as Microsoft Reporting Services and SAP Business Objects
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
