Receiving Team Leader Job Summary:

SMA is seeking an experienced Warehouse Receiving Team Leader to assist the Warehouse Manager in planning, directing, and administering various aspects and activities within the warehouse, which includes receiving, storing, and stocking. This position supervises employees and the work performed within the receiving department, helping to enforce established procedures and practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Helps maintain receiving operations by coordinating and communicating company operational policies and procedures.
• Completes warehouse operational requirements by assisting in assigning employees to work and following up on progress.
• Oversees incoming receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Working with the Warehouse Supervisor to determine space requirements within warehouse and determine position of product within overflow warehouse.
• Directs movement of shipments from the receiving platform to storage and work areas
• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with procedures
• Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinates and provides leadership for assigned warehouse staff to receive products effectively.
• Supervises the daily operational functions, receiving flow, handling staffing issues, monitoring incoming orders and coordinating training to employees.
• Observes and helps direct employees to ensure compliance in operational and working practices.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks and assignments as needed or directed by management.
• This is a "hands-on" type position and will require working right alongside all other warehouse associates.
• The incumbent will perform the duties and responsibilities of this position in a positive, professional, competent, accurate, proficient, and orderly manner. He/she will execute all assignments with a sense of urgency. He/she will cooperate with fellow employees, peers, Lead and Manager; and he/she will obey and enforce all corporate and DC policies and procedures.
• Ensures daily posting of receipts, RMAs, inventory adjustments are properly posted within the policy and procedural guideline.
• Investigates all inventory discrepancies that occur and takes corrective action on his/her findings through proper inventory adjustment procedures along with notifying the appropriate department(s) that are affected.
• Responsible daily cycle counting and/or inventory variance report reconciliation along with coordinating, administering and reconciliation of the Annual Physical Inventory.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

• Must demonstrate strong leadership characteristics.
• A high school diploma minimally required, or five (5) years related warehousing experience.
• Two years’ previous leadership experience is desirable within a warehouse setting.
• Good math and reading skills; basic computer skills required.
• Able to make sound logical decisions and demonstrate initiative.
• Sufficient motor skills to operate equipment.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and flexibility required.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work in high stress/fast-paced environment.
• Able to demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work as a team member.
• Meet physical requirements; able to lift 80 lbs.
• Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery safely according to company protocol.
• A clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as required, even on short notice.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in group settings, be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Perform and represent in a manner consistent with company policy, procedure, and practice to preserve the Company's image and processes.

The 1st shift schedule is 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday – Friday.

Mandatory Overtime as needed.
