- Under general supervision, performs duties including:
- Providing vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders.
- Ensuring that the development team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories to work on.
- Identifying high level functional and non-functional requirements, and communicating those requirements to development teams.
- Acting as a proxy for the business on managing competing priorities, throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Developing business analysis artifacts such as user experience models and prototypes/process flows/ business rules to clarify requirements as needed.
- Prioritizing and sequencing the backlog of epics/features/user stories according to business value, throughout the release and sprint planning cycles.
- Owning the project scope to ensure successful delivery; meeting business expectations and helping define scope and/or schedules.
- Working with Senior Leadership Team and/or other stakeholders to define the product vision, road-map and growth opportunities.
- Contributing to building a culture where continuous improvement of the agile process is in focus.
- Continually seeking out ways to enhance agile knowledge and technical expertise.
- Experience working in a distributed team environment is a plus
- May be responsible for recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, assisting with setting career paths and monitoring employee performance.
Qualifications/Educations/Skills

- 2-4 years’ of previous working experience in an agile environment
- 2 years’ of previous working experience as a Product Owner
- 3-5 years’ of experience working in an IT environment
- Hold a current Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certification
- Associates degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) preferred
- Hands on experience with agile methodologies required
- Must be able to ensure that Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to and applied
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication strategies for working with remote groups
- Knowledge of supply chain logistics a plus
- Working knowledge or experience with IBM Rational Team Concert a plus
