What are the responsibilities and job description for the E&I Designer position at Southern Synergy, Inc.?
Seeking an experienced electrical and instrumentation designer to support ongoing multi-discipline projects. Responsibilities include initial design responsibilities through startup and commissioning.
- Must be fluent in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical software
- Must be familiar with:
- P&ID’s, motor elementary diagrams, single line diagrams, schematics, logic diagrams
- Process Instrumentation both discrete and analog- Knowledge of instrumentation and electrical equipment commonly used in oil/gas, chemical or power generation facilities
- Power distribution (LV & MV)- 24vdc, 4-20mA, 120vac, 480vac, 4.16kV thru 12.47kV
- Cable, conduit and cable tray design, including application of cable sizing and voltage drop calculations
- Knowledge of industrial and electrical codes and standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to spec instruments and hardware
- Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently
