Landscape Supervisor

Landscape Supervisor:

Summary of Position: Responsible for the safety of themselves and those around them. They lead a team to install landscape materials, and other items as directed by the Project Manager or Designer

Goal: The Landscape Supervisor’s goal is to safely install landscapes by leading a team of Landscape Crew Members and Landscape Supervisors in Training. The Supervisor also seeks to install landscapes with the best quality and efficiency.

Duties:

1. Knows and follows all company safety, personnel, and procedure policies.
2. Follow instructions from Project Managers and Designers.
3. Lead a crew to install quality landscapes safely and efficiently
4. Direct and teach common horticulture and hardscape practices and installations
5. Understand and read plans labeled with scaled measurements and elevations.
6. Communicate with Project Manager to manage hours and quality control of each job.
7. Ability to train new members.
8. Direct team in loading and preparing for the next day.
9. Maintain a clean and professional work site, truck/trailer, and uniform.
10. Direct team in performing work in an efficient manner.
11. Adapt to various working situations
12. Perform additional required and incidental activities.
13. Clock management for yourself and crew.
14. Communicates with clients when needed when on site.
15. Adapts well to schedule changes and be flexible in the fast-paced environment.
16. Performs all job duties and tasks with safety in mind.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor in landscape maintenance. Equipment experience is a must. Strong effective communication skills. Time management skills. Chemical applicator license preferred, not required. Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Educational Requirements: High School Diploma, College Degree or Certificate in Horticulture, landscaping or related field is preferred but not necessary. Minimum of 1 year landscape experience.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday. Time in the field-100% of time.

Working Environment: Employee is frequently exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
