Production Workers – Piedmont, SC
Production Workers do repeated production-related tasks that are, by nature, physically demanding. They may be required to lift and carry heavy objects such as sheet metal blanks, work-in-process, finished goods, and various manufacturing-related containers. Under supervision, laborers may start and stop manufacturing equipment and feed metal into forming and shaping machines. They may, with training, prepare manufacturing machines for use.
Job tasks required of laborers may include the following activities: shearing, sawing, rolling, punching, riveting, spot-welding, forming the metal, assembly of components, application of airtight seals, and packaging of work-in-process and finished goods. Additionally, laborers must assist with daily plant clean-up and waste material disposal, and other duties, as assigned.
Physical Requirements Possible–
Various positions and departments in the shop require the ability to …
Lift and carry heavy objects to 50 pounds.
Perform repeated pushing and pulling tasks.
Perform repeated gripping, punching, or grasping.
Lift and/or work above shoulder level.
Perform duties squatted or kneeling.
To climb stairs.
To be on their feet through the entire workday.
