Job Description

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all LNG plant equipment; perform fire fighting; and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One year experience performing mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair is desirable.

Have knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits; hydraulic and pneumatic control systems; compressor repair and maintenance;

inspection and calibration techniques; troubleshooting techniques; safety and emergency procedures; applicable codes. Basic computer skills.

TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONPrepare all maintenance and operation logs, forms and reports accurately and legiblyOperate, repair, and maintain all LNG plant equipment including compressors (centrifugal and reciprocating), engines (gas turbine and reciprocating), boilers, vaporizers, pumps, hazard detection devices (UV, heat, smoke, spill and gas detectors), fiber optics, fire suppression equipment and security system devices according to written proceduresOperate computerized control systems and personal computersRequisition needed materials using proper company procedureCommunicate effectively verbally and in writingEnsure good housekeeping is being maintained at the LNG facilityOperate, maintain, repair and perform fire protection and security for the LNG plantConduct inspections of the plant and components as specified by applicable codes or by supervisorMonitor and report all plant functions, including those related to operating systems, fire protection systems, computerized control systems and security systemsTake daily gas meter reads and calculate all items on a daily gas report using personal computersOperate and maintain gas chromatograph and other analysis equipmentCalibrate all devices related to LNG plant operation using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.

Troubleshoot all pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic devices and systemsThe incumbent may work in or near the presence of escaping natural gas, and LNG at cryogenic temperaturesGive first aidRespond to emergency situations, including fire and breaches of securityPromote good public relationsPerform all duties in a safe mannerRespond to emergency Code 1 leak / odor complaintsOperate heavy equipment (backhoe, manlift)Perform other duties as assignedRegular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the jobSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Meet and maintain the strenuous physical requirements of the position.Must be able to be on-call. Must be able to be contacted and respond for emergency duty when on-call.

Must respond to base location or emergency site within one hour or as division operational needs dictate, subject to Division VP approval, when on-call.

Must possess a valid driver's license and / or other special licenses / certifications.Must be available to perform shift work, staggered work week, including recognized holidays.

Must be available to work overtime.Must be able to wear a complete company-issued uniform.Must be able to wear and use all personal protective safety equipment as operating conditions dictate.

Must be able to work in another location, district, or department.Must be able to work outdoors, exposed to extremes in temperatures and conditions.

May be exposed to natural gas during the course of work.Must successfully complete all aspects of required training.Must comply with company rules of general conduct, company policies and procedures.

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant / employee who performs a DOT covered function or is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle for the Company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company's DOT drug and alcohol testing programs.

Any employment, transfer, or promotion offer made for this position is contingent upon taking and passing a drug test prior to the commencement of the new role.

If an applicant / employee fails the drug test, any offer of employment, transfer, or promotion will be revoked.

SALARY DETAILS

$31.14 - $41.02
