The Supervisor/Engineering is a supervisor of personnel involved in designing, planning, and monitoring of existing and new facilities and compliance activities within the division. This position can also supervise Technical Services workgroups, Construction workgroups and is involved in field decisions for the installation/construction/maintenance of gas facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. This position requires a bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and five to seven years of relevant work experience. Other Engineering degrees may be considered. This position requires the incumbent possess a valid driver's license.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, coordinate, and monitor work activities of exempt and non-exempt individuals in existing and new facility design and planning
Prepare performance appraisals, goals, hiring, and administrate disciplinary coaching or other corrective actions
Develop and provide guidance to workgroup personnel (Engineering, Construction, Technical Services, Temporary Contractors, and Interns)
Supervise and manage projects according to Company and government specifications
Review and approve completed designs, plans, procedures, cost estimates, and justifications for projects and work requests
Prepare and assess project requests detailing proposed engineering work costs and project timetable
Supervise computer simulations/network analyses to test facility designs or evaluate gas system integrity
Evaluate and select optimum design alternatives
Assist in the preparation and updating of the annual capital budget, three-year budget plan, and monthly yearend projections
Coordinate and review engineering analysis necessary to investigate new projects
Coordinate and evaluate other utility and/or private developer plans to assess the need for Company facility modifications
Perform and validate engineering calculations
Communicate project status to appropriate departments
Maintain and evaluate data in accordance with regulatory requirements
Write and review technical instructions and procedures
Research information on material, equipment and related costs for project activities
Review and approve material lists and purchase requisitions
Review, approve and administer contracts for pipeline projects, engineering design, construction and maintenance activities
Assist with long-term planning initiatives
Assist with emergency response activities - Be subject to "on-call" duty
Conceptualize facility design requirements and determine necessary design requirements to maximize gas system effectiveness and minimize cost
Assist in compliance audits and responses to data requests
Review and approve engineering specifications for major purchases
Maintain working relationships/routine liaison with other departments within the Company, customers, other utilities, regulatory organization(s), municipal agencies and other related organizations
Represent or delegate representation of the Company in meetings involving customers and field personnel
Represent the Division in dealings with pipeline safety commission representatives
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
SALARY DETAILS
$92,136 - $138,204
