Job Summary:

 

The Internal Review and Prevention Generalist I will report directly to the National Director of Compliance Field Operations. This position will oversee the ongoing compliance with the Interim Final Rule Part 411 on Standards to Prevent, Detect, and Respond to Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment Involving Unaccompanied Children and ORR Section 4: Preventing, Detecting, and Responding to Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment. The IRP Generalist I will assist in the completion of tasks related to program compliance and prevention. They will cultivate relationships with the leadership team and employee population in their geographic area of responsibility. Domestic travel is required and at times is frequent depending on business need.

Essential Functions:

  • Is knowledgeable of the following standards and regulations:
    • Interim Final Rule 411 Standards on Standards to Prevent, Detect, and Respond to Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment Involving Unaccompanied Children
    • ORR Section 4 Preventing, Detecting, and Responding to Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment.
    • Southwest Key IRP Department Policies related to Preventing, Detecting, and Responding.
  • Assists with desktop protocol development and implementation.
  • Provides support to assigned IRP Administrator in the managing of SA/SIRs as follows:
    • Participates in 72-Hour Review Call
    • Supports program with PSAC request related to SA/SIRs.
    • SA/SIR Reconciliation 
    • Monthly audits of IRP records related to SA/SIRs.
  • Provides support with general prevention of sexual abuse efforts to include:
    • On-going coaching, guidance, and education on preventing sexual abuse.
    • Observation and feedback to program compliance managers.
    • Participates in PSAC calls to remain informed on PSA policy updates.
    • Develops, facilitates, and participates in monthly SWK PSA Compliance Manager Calls.
  • Completes unannounced, after-hours visits to include:
    • Coordination of monthly unannounced, after hour visits for assigned programs.
    • Complete one monthly after hours visit per program and related ETO PSA Visit and Video Log Report
    • Run ETO PSA Visit and Video Log Flat File Report and share report with program management
    • Address non-compliance for monthly unannounced, after hour visits with program management
  • Completes monthly PSA walk-through at assigned programs
    • Ensure PSA postings are current and are placed in required locations. 
    • Review electronic files.
    • Provide feedback to program management on outcome of visit.
    • Review of PSA Binder.
  • Develops, facilitates, and provides training on PSA related topics
  • Reviews PSA related data and trends.
    • Keeps assigned programs informed and assists in the recommendation of preventative measures.
    • Collaborates with program to implement action plans based on PSA related trends.
  • Assists in compiling, maintaining, and submitting reports to include:
    • Data reports, Annual data collection, and Incident review forms.
  • Provide support, as needed, in investigations related to serious incidents of sexual abuse /sexual harassment 
  • Participates in monthly PSAC calls 
  • Assists with outreach related to Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) related to victim advocacy to include:
    • Ensuring assigned programs have the required and current MOUs in place.
    • Identifying, establishing, and/or attempting to establish MOUs.
  • Assists in the PSA Audit process:
    • PSA Audit preparation
    • Compilation and submission of PSA Audit required documentation.
    • Participation in PSA Audits.
    • Ensures that findings and/or related corrective actions plans are addressed to achieve compliance
  • Provide support in the training of PSA related materials.

Other Functions:

  • Assist with special projects such as:
    • Emergency influx shelters
    • External requests
    • Support to region as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • 1 year experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, and compliance issues.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships and solid working relationships with management and employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency with technology along with the ability to learn new software quickly. Should have strong, demonstrable general computer skills and knowledge of software such as Project Management software, MS Windows, the MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to manage conflicts and perform well in crisis situations.
  • Clear result from a criminal background check.

 

Skills Preferred:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Work Environment:

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel. Some travel required.
