What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tower Technician position at Southwest LAN Connections, LLC?
Southwest LAN Connections, LLC (SWLAN) has been a leading provider in the Wireless Broadband Microwave industry for the past 22 years. We are seeking to fill a full-time position for a Tower Tech 2 or Top hand Tower Technician.
$24.00-$32.00 per hour based on experience
Primary Role and Responsibilities
- Experience with installing components such as antennas, transmission lines, antenna mounts and other wireless infrastructure.
- Installation, terminations and testing of RF, Ethernet and fiber optic cabling
- Experience in the installation of microwave equipment, Ethernet switches and power distribution units.
- Experience in RF cabling sweeping of a transmission line and/or antenna system.
- Some experience is a benefit within design installation and support on the following industry wireless solutions (Cambium, Ceragon, SIAE, Aviat, Siklu, Radwin, or any other similar wireless manufacturers)
- Some experience is a benefit for the design and installation for 900 MHz narrow band networks utilized within SCADA wireless industry
- Ability to work outside and withstand varied inclement weather conditions
- Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the Company and OSHA/MSHA
- Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regard to workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior and appearance
- Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal, electronic)
- Strong time management, problem-solving, detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of multi-tasking
Minimum requirements
- 3 years experience within the wireless industry
- Must have personal tools for the telecommunication industry
- Must have a drivers license coupled with a clean MVD driving record
- Mandatory drug screening and back ground check
- Some traveling required
- Able to lift 50 lbs minimum
- Flexibility to work more than an 8 hour work shift at times
- Must be able to utilize aerial platform lifts and work off of communication structures
