Veterinary Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to our animal patients. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine.

Duties:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various procedures and treatments
- Provide animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and exercising
- Handle dogs and other animals with care and compassion
- Assist with animal handling during examinations, vaccinations, and surgeries
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical suites for procedures
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Assist with animal catheterization and monitoring anesthesia
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of patients
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and procedures

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings preferred
- Knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary critical care
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy
