Reports To: Elementary School Principal/Superintendent of Schools
- Assists in the overall administration and operation of the school.
- Assumes full responsibility of the school when the principal is absent from the building.
- Assists in administering District and Building initiatives.
- Implements School Board policies and procedures.
- Assists the principal in ensuring continuous improvement in measurable student performance and achievement.
- Provides educational leadership in implementing learning standards.
- Assists in the implementation of student testing.
- Develops positive school and community relations.
- Facilitates communications among students, parents, teachers and support staff.
- Provides counsel and guidance to students regarding academic, personal and behavioral issues.
- Promotes high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according to students' due process rights.
- Observes and evaluates teacher performance as it relates to student learning, and provides coaching, feedback, and assistance as needed.
- Participates in meetings and other activities appropriate for professional development and assists in providing training opportunities.
- Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and orienting new personnel.
- Participates in financial planning for the school which may include assisting in the preparation of the school's budget.
- Assists in the collection and monitoring of school data.
- Serves on various school and district committees.
- Performs other functions as assigned by the Elementary School Principal/High School Principal and/or the Superintendent of Schools.
