Customer Service Representative

The Opportunity
Our position comes with a competitive salary range of $45,000 to $55,000 depending on your skills and experience.

As a designer and distributor of technical systems and components Southwestern Controls provides custom solutions in the healthcare, scientific, environmental, oil field, and other growing industries. Our Technical Sales and Customer Service Representative team help customers develop new products or improve existing ones. Our Internet Marketing teams have 2 eCommerce sites, several brochure sites, and advertise on Google and YouTube. Together, we improve the world in ways our people are proud of.
Responsibilities
- · Engage with customers via email, phone, text, and chat;
- · Quote customers with current pricing and availability;
- · Process orders, blanket orders & release schedules in our ERP system;
- · Maintain customer, inventory, and pricing databases by entering new and updating existing accounts;
- · Analyze customer problems and resolve their needs;
- · Expedite customer’s orders;
- · Process Account Receivable;
- · Assist Territory Managers to meet customers’ needs;
- · Cooperate with other team members to meet customers’ needs; and
- · Work with management on special projects.
Qualities Desired of the Successful Candidate
- Must have a friendly and warm demeanor;
- Must be willing to learn new things;
- Must be a hard worker;
- 2-3 years of experience in a comparable customer service role or a Bachelor's degree;
- Ability to effectively change attention to handle multiple tasks throughout the day to allow prioritization of tasks and job assignments;
- Effectively communicate in writing, over the phone, in video meetings, by text and internet chat;
- Enthusiasm and ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Effective time management and task priority assignment; and

Working Conditions: Office Environment Onsite, 6720 Sands Point Drive, Houston, Texas.
Travel: Limited for training
Education: 2-3 years work experience in a similar industry or Bachelor's degree.
