Accounts Payable Supervisor - The Muransky Companies
The Muransky Companies is hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee the Accounts Payable department of all Muransky Company entities: Southwoods Health, The Lake Club, Chestnut Land Company, Rise Pies and Ivory & Birch.
Responsibilities:
- Supervising and training of accounts payable associates
- Directs the invoice processing and assigned tasks pursuant to company policy
- Assist with performance evaluations
- Maintain vendor master files
- Obtain and review W-9’s from new vendors
- Monitor discount opportunities
- Support the accuracy of Accounts Payable related general ledger accounts by ensuring that routine activities are being completed in a timely manner (e.g., payments are entered, credit memos are applied)
- Review banking support items for reconciliations, returned payments, positive pay exceptions
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and bank funding
- Work closely with the accounting team during month-end close process (i.e. accruals)
- Assists with check runs as necessary
- Reconcile vendor statements or payment inquiries, research and resolve outstanding items within a timely basis
- Manage regulatory compliance, including 1099 processing, sales and use tax, unclaimed property, and other relevant laws
- Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records
- Assist in the development and implementation of our continuous improvement strategy within AP
- Perform and/or prepare ad hoc analysis, tasks and reports
- Assist Controller as required with special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
- Supervisory experience
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to motivate staff
- Availability to work extra hours when required
