Position Summary:

In this role, you will act as a senior member of the Engineering Platform team, which manages the global AWS environments. You will work as a Subject-Matter Expert on many key projects and initiatives and will have the opportunity to work with some of the latest cloud technologies. 

Essential Functions/Primary Duties:

• Support our AWS and other public Cloud environments. 
• Build-out our Cloud Management Platform self-service catalog to provide multi-cloud services for our team's  
• Work on multiple projects, operating as the Subject Matter Expert managing the project requirements, scope, and timelines  
• Act as an escalation point for the Operations teams and other IT teams on issues relating to AWS. 
• Mentor junior members on the Platform Engineering and Operations teams. 
• Create and maintain detailed documentation 

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or software engineering staff member 
• Excellent Ruby/Python, bash, and scripting fundamentals 
• Expertise with cloud AWS architectures 
• Minimum 2 years of Terraform, CloudFormation, Salt, Puppet and/or Ansible experience 
• In-depth knowledge of build/release systems, CI/CD systems(Buildkite, Codefresh, CircleCI )  
• Able to build tools from scratch when needed 
• Proficient with deployment and Orchestration technology stack (such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm) 
• Understanding of monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Kibana (ELK), Jaeger/Open Tracing, Istio, Envoy, and other monitoring technology. 
• Proficient at Linux system administration. 
• Experience with modern web services architectures and databases. 
• Experience with Git 
• Ability to quickly learn new and existing technologies 
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks 
• Leadership experience - technical or managerial 
• Strong team player 
• Willingness to take responsibility, accountability and ownership  
• Willingness to work outside of normal working hours to complete mission critical tasks 
• Participate in an on-call rotation 
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills 

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with MS SQL Server including Always On. 
• Experience with database and caching technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis, Casandra, Elasticsearch, etc.) 
• Experience with Kafka, Zookeeper 

Education:

• Bachelor's or equivalent work experience.
