Salary Range: $17-$20/Hour

Functional Role: To safely and efficiently operate the Laser/Fabrication equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
One year experience operation of Laser, Press Brake machinery preferred
Able to learn to set up of Laser cutting and Press Brake machinery
Ability to operate all equipment in laser and fabrication area effectively
Strong analytical and mathematical skills related to reading diagrams and drawings
Strong verbal and written communication skills

The supervisor’s performance is measured by the results of the department as a whole, and in each assigned employee’s progress in improving their skill, experience and results.

Productivity of equipment
Overall quality and scrap produced
Effective communication with co-workers
Ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts and solutions
How well employees are trained on use of equipment/operations
Maintain equipment to insure its availability and effectiveness
Maintain cleanliness and order of department to 5S standards
Insure that all employees work safely: follow accepted procedures, wear all required personal protective equipment, and identify any unsafe conditions observed
Identify and address problems and opportunities for improvement
Act ethically, honestly and consistently at all times
Representation of company values/policies

Working Conditions: This position requires working in an unconditioned indoor environment where temperatures vary widely during the year. The noise level is very loud such that hearing protection is required. Exposure to dust, lubricants, and oil is routine. Eye protection and safety shoes must be worn at all times on the shop floor. Visits to customer sites provide exposure to a wide range of conditions for short durations.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Produce product on time, to specification, at planned cost.

Organize resources (materials, supplies, equipment, processes, labor, etc.) to meet customer demands
Eliminate waste (defects, waiting, over production, over processing, inventory, motion, transportation, and unused employee ideas). Learn and practice “lean thinking”.
Lead and support efforts to control and reduce cost

Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workplace

Maintain equipment to insure its availability and performance
Insure that all safety, health and environmental procedures are followed. Collaborate with the safety director to improve practices. Investigate all incidents and implement controls to prevent re-occurrence.
Maintain cleanliness and order of work area to 5S standards

Take action to minimize loss and communicate effectively to isolate problems and control operations.

Protect company property at job sites through proper security procedures
Act decisively and demonstrate good judgment in the analysis and resolution of problems
