Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for an Estimator to join our Renewables team in our Dallas-Fort Worth Office.
The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, training project managers in estimation practices for projects, creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and calculators for both project estimation and long-term Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contracts. This role will involve a specific focus on breaking down contracts into actionable scopes of work, quantifying risk and lessons learned, and establishing and maintaining estimating methodology. Additionally, the Estimator will be tasked with developing and maintaining lessons learned from previous projects and pricing exercises, as well as identifying areas of cost reduction and efficiency multipliers.

What will do you as an Estimator?
- Reviewing and understanding project contracts and scopes to build out pricing, focusing on estimating expenses, and deferring risk
- Develop and train SOPs and calculators for Project Manager Estimation for projects under $100k.
- Develop and maintain lessons learned from project estimations and implementations.
- Develop, standardized and train SOPs and calculators for long-term O&M contracts, focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Digest contracts to extract actionable scopes of work and identify potential risks.
- Quantify risk factors and incorporate lessons learned into estimation processes.
- Establish and maintain a "round robin" estimating methodology to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Learn from previous mistakes and pricing exercises to continuously improve estimation accuracy.
- Identify areas of cost reduction and efficiency multipliers to optimize project budgets and timelines.

- Minimum 5 years of renewables, project management or contract experience (Solar, BESS and Wind)
- Applicable education in Engineering, Electrical, or related field.
- Proven experience in construction estimation, preferably in multiple project types and sizes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quantify and mitigate project risks.
- Experience in developing SOPs and calculators for estimation purposes.
- Excellent communication and training skills to effectively convey estimation processes and SOPs to project managers.
