Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Process and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Accurately post and verify transactions, ensuring the completion of all documentation.
- Track budget variances and maintain accurate financial entries.
- Reconcile company accounts as needed.
- Assist with payroll processing, providing necessary documents and information.
- Collaborate with accountants on tax payments, returns, and related processes.
- Create and present financial reports as required.
- Foster and maintain relationships with external accounting firms, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Perform general administrative tasks and support ad hoc projects as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, advising management as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proven ability to track, manage, and maintain financial data with accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional role and manage multiple responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; or a relevant Associate’s degree combined with applicable experience.
- Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounts payable/receivable is strongly preferred.
