Tax Specialist
Responsibilities
- Prepares assigned tax returns including but not limited to individuals, trusts, partnerships and private foundations
- Prepares the tax files for individuals and trusts using scan software, autoflow data into tax return preparation software and review for accuracy.
- Prepares income tax projections using all sources of information including general ledger, outside projections and tax estimates.
- Communicates with others on a regular basis including but not limited to clients, the tax team, and other members from various departments.
- Keeps up to date with tax knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.
- CPA license preferred or working towards certification required
- 2 years of experience working in public accounting with an emphasis on private client taxation including working with ultra-high net worth individuals preferred
- Proficient in individual, fiduciary, private foundation and investment partnership taxation, with an understanding of complex investments and the related tax implications and / or estate, gift and generation skipping transfer taxation.
- Familiar with multi-state taxation.
