Spartanburg Housing currently has an opening for a full-time Accountant.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• This position prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information, and processes accounts payable.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
• Responsible for the processing of payroll and generates tax and year end reports and filings.
• Performs reconciliations of Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) program payments and recording of financial related transactions in Voucher Management System (VMS) and YARDI systems.
• Prepares, analyzes, and evaluates financial data statements and reports for monthly reports.
• Reconciles employee, life insurance, medical dental, vision to employee records and prepares report for Director of Finance.
• Makes regular records and files in an organized, confidential manner and provides assistance to the accounting associates as needed.

Requirements:

Associate's degree, from an accredited college or university in accounting or finance is required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Five years of demonstrated experience at the senior accountant level. Experience with non-profit/public housing agencies preferred.
