Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller will contribute to keeping the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control, while supervising the function of the Accounting Specialists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises, directs, and reviews the A/P, A/R, analysis, and cost accounting activities of the Accounting team.
- Supervises, directs, and reviews the A/P, A/R, analysis, and cost accounting activities of the Accounting team.
- Understands and is able to complete all accounting functions including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Accrual Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Develops, initiates, and oversees all cross-training and professional development of direct reports.
- Coordinates and prepares timely monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial statements ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversees accounting and banking records, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Calculates and issues financial and operation metrics.
- Performs day to day financial transactions, including verifying, posting, and recording accounting data.
- Completes, supports, and maintains daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for the executive leadership team.
- Verifies discrepancies and resolves account issues; serves as point of escalation for internal and external contacts.
- Develops and maintains relationships with vendors, clients, and prospective clients.
- Participates in all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes and procedures; directing the completion of work and coordinating with the fractional CFO for compilation and production of financial statements.
- Leads the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings to include sales tax, franchise tax, and coordinates with CPA to complete federal and state annual filings.
- Manages and complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings; ensures tax filings and payments are completed timely and accurately.
- Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Compiles data and completes annual insurance renewals; coordinating between executive leadership and brokers to ensure accurate coverage requirements are met and maintains records.
- Provides financial analysis, as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract terms.
- Manages and maintains accounting records in accordance with document retention policies.
- Additional duties as necessary or assigned.
- Proven working experience as an assistant controller or similar position
- 7 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- 5 years’ experience in a supervisory/management role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; Masters preferred - CPA or CMA a plus
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with QuickBooks software preferred
- Healthcare industry experience a plus

Salary : $95,000 - $130,000
