Speaks Law Firm PC, is a Personal Injury Law practice with offices in Wilmington and Charlotte, North Carolina. Located close to Camp Lejeune, we are committed to obtaining advantageous outcomes for our clients. We are searching for a Litigation Paralegal to join us in our Wilmington office to mostly manage personal injury matters, including those involving Camp Lejeune. $45,000 - $60,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
Maintain effective communication with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
Drafting of legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys
Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements
Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items
Ability to demonstrate key performance indicators and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervisory oversight
Monitor & manage client’s medical treatment
Send requests for information including medical records & billing
Maintain/organize client files
Preparation and filing of general correspondence, e-mails, demand packages and other exhibits into Needles Case Management Software
Understand subrogation liens & disputing unrelated charges
Ability to complete balance sheets accurately reflecting Rule 414 payments/adjustments
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance portals
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of litigation experience OR
Associate degree in Paralegal Studies and two (2) years of litigation experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies and Paralegal certificate
Mass Tort experience (preferred but not required)
Federal Court experience
