SSD Schools Curriculum Facilitator
REPORTS TO: Special Education Coordinator or Executive Director of Schools.
DEPARTMENT: Special Education
POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of this teaching position assists in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum and professional learning to support classroom teachers and increase student performance. Provides consultation to support the learning process of adults and students. Continually researches, teaches and offers follow-up support for effective instructional methods.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with the development and support of the curriculum and curriculum writing teams and instructional supports to assist with the implementation of the curriculum.
Assists in supporting and developing systems thinking and processes at the classroom, team and school level
Assists in the development and evaluation of staff needs and district staff development plans.
Facilitates, teaches and evaluates effective, research-based instructional supports and professional learning based on analysis of student performance and data.
Assists in identifying, developing, and implementing instructional supports, technology and other adaptations for students to access the curriculum.
Provides classroom-based coaching, model teaching and adult learning that increases student performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in special education.
- Successful in providing professional learning as well as teaching experience in the following areas that apply: specific academic content, autism spectrum disorders, positive behavior interventions and supports, instructional strategies, assistive technology, and transition planning.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary Starting at $44,900 to $71,550 depending on education and experience.
