Wash Bay Technician

Job Description

Summary:

Wash Bay Technician is responsible for performing daily tasks as assigned, to keep up with daily operations. This position also is responsible to ensure vehicles are running smoothly and are responsible to consistently turn out a clean, dry, shiny vehicle.

In times of high volume work, this position may be required to assist with piloting oversize loads. For this, one must have an excellent understanding of permit requirements and ability to meet all industry and regulatory requirements on construction (often remote) project sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Always be ready to assist other employees in any area needed.
• Guide vehicles into the wash area with a focused, pleasant, and competent demeanor
• Perform visual inspections of the condition of each vehicle prior to sending it through the wash bay
• Be proficient with all policies and procedures and able to perform them daily, maintaining any documentation required
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on all equipment to ensure it is kept in proper working order
• Keep the entire property spotlessly clean and ensure everything is kept in the proper place and organized
• Keep vacuums unclogged, hoses hung properly, and trash cans emptied
• Be polite and available to address all concerns and handle them in a professional manner that is satisfactory to everyone.

Other Duties:

• Safely and efficiently escorts permitted oversized loads
• Drive in front of or behind oversized loads and apprise the load driver, via CB radio of any and all obstacles
• May be required to assist the load driver in the preparation of the load for safe and legal transport
• Must familiarize him/herself with the permitted routes in order to guide the load safely
• Effectively work with other members of project team to produce contract/project requirements
Performs other related duties, as assigned

  Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably able to perform other tasks satisfactorily.

  
  

  Education and/or Experience:

  Minimum: 18 years old. Must possess a valid driver license. Must have an excellent driving/safety record.

  
  

  Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
• Ability to see and record written data and information.
• Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency.
Ability to wear protective clothing.


• Physical Requirements:

  Ability to lift, move, push and/or pull up to 50lbs. Ability to climb on and off equipment. Ability to sit and operate equipment for long periods. Ability to consistently maneuver operating levers. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

  
  

  Working Conditions:

  Must be able to live and work in remote locations (with notice) and capable of working long days/hours, up to seven days a week.
