We are currently recruiting for a Lead Plant Operator in our Dumas, Texas location.
Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Follow and provide input into written procedures and SOPs.
- Maintain labor utilization above minimum expected levels.
- Reviews formulation orders for accuracy both when receiving and after they have been completed. Completes and signs off on paperwork as required.
- Ensures that products meet the quality and production standards based on scheduled demands.
- Reviews production schedules daily and takes proactive measures to ensure their completion. This includes recommendations to modify the schedule and/or manning as appropriate.
- Coordinates work assignments with the Logistics and Field Service Departments that included production, training, technical support and/or process/trouble shooting support.
- Inspection production equipment to ensure operability and informs supervision of corrective actions to ensure that scheduled products will be formulated per the schedule.
- Operate equipment that contains Hazardous Chemicals.
- Ensure that all Operators are trained and work with the Plant Manager to ensure all training records are current.
- Comply with all Process Safety Management and Risk Management Program requirements.
- Opening and closing multiple valves daily.
- Connecting and/or disconnecting hoses.
- Operating load out pumps for trucks, tanks, blenders and/or railcars.
- Working with power tools including but not limited to saws, drills and/or grinders.
- Ensures that housekeeping standards are always visitor ready
- Operate packaging equipment, including but not limited to Box Taper, Filling and Lidding machine, Stretch Wrapper and Glue Machine.
- Filling and/or unloading Drums, totes, trucks and/or railcars.
- May be trained to be part of a confined space entry team.
- Handling, transporting, moving, adding and/or mixing liquid and dry hazardous chemicals.
- Provide routine preventative maintenance to the facility.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment within the facility.
- Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment.
- Perform laboratory testing on field samples and quality assurance samples.
- Record and report testing results clearly to colleagues and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements
Employment
1. Provide evidence of employment eligibility acceptable to state and federal standards.
2. Must be at least 18 years old.
3. Able to pass a background check and pre-employment exams, including spirometry (PFT) and non-DOT drug screen.
Education and Experience
4. Requires a high school diploma/GED.
5. Must have a minimum of 1 year of forklift experience. Prefer a minimum of two years' of forklift experience. Proficient operation of a forklift required.
6. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Prefer three years' of experience working in a chemical environment or three years' of related experience.
7. Prefer working knowledge in the area of batch making process.
Certification
8. Prefer a valid forklift certification.
9. Have and maintain a valid driver’s license, in the state of residence, and a safe driving record meeting the company’s vehicle policy and insurability standards.
