What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at SpecialtyCare?
- Provide all financial support for contract renegotiations and repricing for any assigned hospitals on an as needed basis including:
- Providing financial history (where available) that includes contribution margin, procedure counts, equipment listings, sales analysis and staffing estimates.
- Complete “first pass” of the financial projection model based on historical information.
- Work with key negotiator to develop pricing strategy and forecasts financial outcomes based on pricing and cost assumptions.
- Work with key negotiator and contract administrator to ensure contract reflects SpecialtyCare’s pricing strategy.
- Perform monthly operational reviews with key negotiators to identify the key drivers of variances in financials as compared to budget
- Recommend and suggest improvements in pricing, staffing, use of materials, etc that would drive company-wide financial improvement.
- Provide financial analysis support for senior leaders.
- Compile business reviews to Operations for presentation to hospital leadership.
- Perform ad hoc corporate statistical and financial analysis as required by management.
- Perform financial analysis and financial projections for new business opportunities.
- Prepare trend analysis on cash collections and procedure counts from third party billing (TPB).
- Prepare supporting documentation and analysis for TPB related hospital contracts.
- Perform analysis related to TPB hospital contract provisions, such as cash collections or revenue guarantees, and four month look-back provisions for rebilling hospitals.
- Assist in compilation of third party accruals based on knowledge of contracts with both facilities and payers.
- Assist with preparation of the annual budget that meets the organization’s financial targets.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience:
- One (1) to two (2) years of related experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced ability to operate Excel.
- Ability to operate PeopleSoft, preferred.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
