Barista

Come join the team of a new creative cafe in Winooski.

Independently owned and operated, we offer coffee, teas and all sorts of beverages made with house-made ingredients. Our aim is to create a comfortable gathering space where the community can enjoy thoughtfully crafted drinks and friendly conversation. The environment is casual and friendly, but the drinks are on point.

We will begin to be open later (till 7pm) and launch our beverage focused retail shop as well as start serving a small beer, wine and cocktail menu.

The Barista role is an important part of our small team.
The barista is the host of our space and is excited to interact with our community.
They are responsible for making and serving everything offered on the cafe’s menu. From our real fruit smoothies, to our classic cappuccinos to our specialty lattes.
The role also consists of opening and/or closing the cafe when needed.
The ideal candidate has an equal passion for quality drinks and hospitality.
An eagerness to be a part of the creation of a new experience is necessary.

Previous experience working with coffee, or as a barista with espresso drinks is preferred.

Previous experience and or interest in the world of cocktails, beer and wine is another plus!

A genuine interest in the craft of drink making wanted!

We have full and part time positions available.

Must be available mornings (7am) and weekends.

Pay is hourly plus tips shared amongst the team

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Provide thoughtful service to guests
• Describe menu items and products to guests cohesively
• Make all drinks according to the recipe and technique provided
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures provided
• Open and Close the cafe
• Settle up the sales / Cash-out drawers after each shift
• Proficiency with POS system
• Clean work areas, utensils, equipment, service areas, seating areas, floors, bathrooms
• Receiving supply orders and distribute / stock inventory
• Maintain an interest in continuing our collective education of the craft

Requirements:

• Some barista espresso drink making experience is preferred.
• Experience with Square POS system is a plus
• Follow health and safety guidelines
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work well with others
• Flexibility
• Excitement for the craft
