Overview
The Staff Accountant at the Alerus Center is responsible for supporting employees, managers, and the HR and Payroll Department in facilitation of various employee related activities and specialist projects. Key responsibilities include Accounts Payable data entry, Payroll administration, data entry, filing/records management, day-to-day completion of employee related activities and processes, EEO, and projects as assigned and provides support to the Finance department.
Qualifications
- Associates degree and a minimum of two years of job related experience, preferably in an accounting role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to traditional business hours, as required.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
- Strong PC and data processing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of team and with all levels of management.
- Strong customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict levels of confidentiality, discretion and ethics.
Special Knowledge Of:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices.
- Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, employees, superiors and business contacts in a professional, timely and courteous manner.
- Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; training on industry specific software will be provided.
