Design Drafter

Design Drafter responsibilities will include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements and setting up production methods. If you have hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and are familiar with building processes, then we are looking for you to join the Spectrum team!

Spectrum manufactures equipment for swimming pools, and we’ve been doing this here in Montana for over 45 years now. Your Daily Duties and Responsibilities will Include:

• Use Solidworks to create concept models, design and detail drawings from those models.
• Design and drafting of custom and standard products utilizing the companies defined drafting standards.
• Limited interaction with customers regarding custom product orders to ensure product accuracy.
• Liaise with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
• Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
• Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)
• Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow
• Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team
• Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
• Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
• Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance
• Creation and maintenance of build books for standard catalog items.
• Review of drawings and design created by peers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Generation and review of Bills of Material for completeness and accuracy.
• Support sales staff regarding product specifications and design.
• Assist engineering with the design and development of new products and the improvement of existing products.
• Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor or Manager

Pay: $20.10 - $24.00 per hour
