. JOB SUMMARY
. The Architecture Design Engineer will serve as the primary interface between Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Advanced Engineering, Construction and Production Design teams to develop new complex HFC and Fiber designs, specifications and engineering solutions in the most cost efficient manner while adhering to Charter Communications’ and Charter Field Operations’ standards and specifications and package them for transition to a production environment. The Architecture Design Engineer will be expected to work across functional and organizational boundaries to lead new design initiatives and will work closely with these teams, Engineering, Technical Operations, Construction and Equipment Vendors to develop design solutions and processes to support new equipment specifications utilizing applicable Design theory.

. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
.
. Engineer complex design solutions that meet customer required SLAs (Service Level Agreement) in a cost efficient manner.
.
. Create and maintain accurate documentation / diagrams of all proposed designs, solutions and specifications.
.
. Ensure network design solutions can be supported and maintained within the local network capacity and topology.
.
. Ensure all proposed designs and solutions are compatible with existing design platforms and environments.
.
. Engage with contractors / external vendors (when applicable) in the design and deployment of network design solutions and specifications.
.
. Create and maintain engineering design documents/diagrams supporting proposed solutions.
.
. Develop processes to audit, document and maintain fiber transport capacity to include forecasting, planning and budgeting of future requirements.

. Create and maintain transport fiber network databases and develop and maintain processes for allocation and forecasting.
.
. Align with cross-functional teams to ensure inside plant (ISP) optical network documentation is accurate and maintained.

. Maintain a strong knowledge of industry and emerging technology trends and share that knowledge cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Design, and Constructions teams as required.

. Maintain a strong knowledge of drafting tools such as, AutoCAD, Bentley, MapInfo, etc. and be able to apply drafting principles and knowledge as required.
.
. Align with cross-functional teams to ensure splicing documentation is accurate and maintained.
.
. Collaborate cross-functionally with Inside Plant (ISP), Enterprise, Regional and Construction teams to ensure documentation of Headend, Hub, OTN, Inside Plant (ISP) Optics, etc. is accurate, maintained and visible across all teams requiring the data. Work with these teams to align on allocation processes.

. Project coordination and administrative functions by maintaining associated records, providing reports as necessary and processing related invoices.

. Perform research, planning, fiber route proposals and design duties for Hub Elimination to include billing updates and securing as-builts post move.

. Perform other duties as required to meet Corporate and Departmental goals and objectives – the needs of the business.
