This company is a progressive developer and operator of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage facilities across California, New York, and Texas.

The Analyst role focuses on overseeing the contractor safety programs, ensuring the well-being of staff, contractors, and visitors.

The ideal candidate for this position is a reliable, self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills, capable of effective collaboration and communication within a team.

They will operate with minimal supervision, contributing to the development, implementation, and support of the Contractor Safety Program within the renewable energy sector, covering solar, battery energy storage systems, and wind projects.

This Analyst will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing company-wide contractor safety programs, including the Contractor Drug & Alcohol Program, Contractor Safety Program, and Contractor Site Safety Orientation Program.

They will play a pivotal role in ensuring safety policies and procedures are adhered to during pre-qualification, RFP, and construction phases.

Additionally, the Analyst will mentor and guide Safety Coordinators responsible for implementing the contractor program in Operations.

The role is a hybrid position, combining remote work with regular day trips to construction facilities in Southern California (Mojave, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside County).

The individual needs to be based within driving distance of Southern California sites. Potential travel to additional projects in New York or Texas may be required over time.

This is a newly created role, and the Analyst will be a key member of the Health & Safety team at this company.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain written contractor safety programs in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Recommend procedures, standards, and guidelines related to contractor safety, injury prevention, and illness programs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction site managers to manage and address potential risk and safety issues effectively.
  • Support Site Managers in contractor safety performance evaluations, incident root cause analyses, job site safety, and recordkeeping.
  • Oversee the Drug and Alcohol program for contractors, acting as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Design and maintain procedures related to safety requirements in the contractor selection process.
  • Report safety performance to senior leadership.
  • Manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Conduct inspections and audits as directed on company sites.
  • Periodic overnight travel to job sites and meetings may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with safety management system software.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to generate and deliver safety reports.
  • Project management, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring safe work on all projects.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, EHS / HSE, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • Six years of relevant construction experience.
  • Five years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, contractor programs, and incident prevention.
  • Proficient understanding of construction safety standards and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA).
  • Familiarity with contracting processes.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • OSHA 500 Course in Trainer Course in Occupational Safety & Health Standards for the Construction Industry.
  • OSHA 511 Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the General Industry.
  • A valid Class C California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Company's vehicle insurance policy.
  • Possess current qualifications in First Aid, Adult CPR and AED, as well as Blood-borne Pathogens.
