What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Auditor position at Spencer Savings Bank?
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for reviewing operating procedures and recorded data to ensure compliance with established Bank policies and procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs and supervises Financial Centers and Departmental audits.
2. Reviews completed paperwork to ensure compliance with department policy and prepares Review Note paperwork as applicable.
3. Prepares draft copies of audit programs and reports and submits for final review and approval.
4. Coordinates staffing assignments to ensure the timely completion of all audits.
5. Informs management of the status of assignments and problems encountered.
6. Works directly with the Senior Auditors on assignments.
7. Performs other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Skills:
Proficiency with various software programs including Microsoft Office.
Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
Competency in identifying potential areas of risk.
Knowledge of controls and the ability to identify control deficiencies.
Knowledge to evaluate the risk of fraud.
Possesses a working knowledge of Consumer Regulations.
Education:
College Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent related business experience, required.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year related work experience required.
