Overview: We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating various components and products. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to read and interpret schematics.
Essential Duties:
· Prepares work to be accomplished by reading assembly drawings, blueprints, specifications, and parts lists.
· Gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and material for the job.
· Assembles and fabricates components according to specifications
· Inspects components for dimensional accuracy utilizing blueprints/drawings.
· Installs and tests electrical control components, Input/output devices, sensors, and associated cabling.
· Uses hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to complete assembly tasks
· Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues or malfunctions
· Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
· Resolves assembly difficulties by working with engineering and systems integration to implement solutions.
· Verifies specifications and tests assemblies and subassemblies ensuring correct operation and function.
· Inspects finished products for quality and accuracy
· Prepares equipment for shipment, load and offload freight shipment utilizing a forklift.
· May assist with installs and testing equipment in customers facilities, as part of the installation team.
· Maintains safe, organized and clean work environment by complying with procedures, shop rules, and regulations.
· Works within and promotes SPIDA's vision, mission, and values of the organization.
Requirements:
High school degree required plus three or more years of machinery assembly or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of assembly techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment
- Familiarity with electrical wiring and soldering techniques
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to pro-actively plan work tasks/schedules and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality. Able to clarify assigned tasks and expectations and then work independently to complete assignments.
- Proven ability to consistently perform duties with integrity, effectiveness, efficiency, and at the highest level of professionalism.
-Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and successfully interact with people at all management and support levels, within and outside the organization.
- Ability to travel, including occasional overnight absences from the employee's place of residence.
- Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance along with ability to work occasional overtime and weekends.
- Ability to regularly lift 25 pounds and move objects up to 50 pounds.
