Scope

We are looking for a Ticketing & Venue Manager to join our team. It is the primary responsibility of this position to oversee the daily operations of the Ticketing and Venue Department to ensure guest service and sales standards are met. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Ticketing.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
  • Create and maintain department specific forms, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Manage inventory to effectively sell out the show performances.
  • Oversee the assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department.
  • In accordance with the Director, develop new and analyze existing procedures to improve guest service and ticket sales.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with employees/promoters/clients/guests with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Reviews and issues department disciplines in accordance with department’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide all direct reports the tools needed to be distinctive, pertaining to superior guest service for both internal and external guests.
  • Managing and reporting all maintenance and repairs of the venue.
  • Ensuring that the venue and facilities are clean and organized.
  • Managing any private events inside the venue.
  • Supervising all staff including ticket agents, ushers, and supervisors.
  • Scheduling and coordinating cleaning and security for the venue.
  • Supervising the operations of events and tending to any incidents or queries.
  • Managing all administrative tasks such as payroll, weekly scheduling, and time off requests to stay efficient and within budget.
  • Communicating and enforcing all security and safety regulations and protocols.
  • Reconcile and compile daily sales reports and distribute them at the end of each day.
  • Oversee event set-up, including crowd control, signage, tables, and chairs.
  • Effectively develop and mentor all hourly and salary employees to ensure departmental standards and goals are understood and met.
  • Work closely with all departments, vendors, third parties and property leadership to ensure a seamless and positive guest experience and successful operation.
  • Maximize ticket revenue and sales by thinking outside the box, taking initiative, and empowering the box office agents and management team.
  • Assess and investigate department accounting errors and manage proper nightly cash-out procedures.
  • Monitoring risk management as it pertains to the venue such as employee and guest safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and the proper handling, reporting, and investigating of accidents.
  • Manage staff and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Evaluate the schedule or timelines related to the completion of assignments, while maintaining service and/or product quality.
  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.

  • A minimum of three (3) years AND at least one (1) year in a supervisor role in Box office sales or ticketing experience is required. Ideal candidates will have worked directly in the entertainment or performing arts industries.
  • Earned a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • Develop employees’ skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost and unnecessary expenditures.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with AXS or Archtics, is a plus
  • Must be self-starter and able to work in a hectic fast-paced environment, while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Physical requirements include ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; lift up to 35 lbs.; type on a keyboard and remain standing before a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Strong work ethic with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness.
  • Display an understanding of, sensitivity to, and appreciation for the diverse ethnic, socio-economic, disability, and genders of guests and co-workers.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to SPW uniform and appearance guidelines.
  • Comfortable improvising in the moment as part of the guest experience.
  • Following a conditional offer of employment, able to show proof of being fully vaccinated, able to get vaccinated within 7 days, or have a qualifying medical or religious exception.
  • Willing to participate in employer-paid COVID-19 Mitigation protocols which include testing and onsite screening.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
