Overview
Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented individual to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Office of Global Research (OGR). This part-time position will perform up to 10 hours a week.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior level scientific and operational advice to senior Division leadership in support of the Division’s complex and broad ranging research activities and programs. Key areas include scientific reporting and communications, engagement with HIV/AIDS community advocates, and building and maintaining relationships with historically underrepresented communities in clinical research.
- Provide direct assistance and advice in identifying and resolving a myriad of scientific, policy and management issues that cross the Scientific Programs and Branches within the Division and involves substantive interactions within the Division and the Institute.
- Perform a wide variety of highly complex research writing and editing duties necessary for the development and dissemination of written materials on major HIV research programs, research accomplishments, and other activities of the Division.
- Interpret and analyze complex scientific facts, biomedical research results and their implications on Institute programs and policies.
- Assist with the preparation of responses to Freedom of Information Act requests.
Experience Required / Requirements
- Master's degree in a biomedical science.
- 20 years of experience working with HIV research.
- Proven experience in providing senior-level advisory support in a research or scientific environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing complex scientific data, research results, and their implications on programs and policies.
- Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and related legal and regulatory requirements, including the ability to assist in FOIA responses.
Minimum of a Masters’s degree with at least 20 years relevant experience
