Applications Engineer - California

Provide pre-sale and post sales design, technical, and troubleshooting support to SXS inside and outside sales teams, internal project teams, IMRs, distributors/customers courteously, quickly and accurately.

• Provides timely and superior technical support for SSI products via the telephone, email, and/or internet to customers, distributors and sales representatives - 40%
• Provide pre and post-sale support to account executives and project teams throughout the sales cycle - 40%
• Prepares and facilitates training to customers and sales representatives in the proper application, sizing and selection of equipment, by developing calculation tools and/or presentation material - 10%
• Provide on-site technical support as required - 10%

Responsibilities:

• Selecting and sizing published products, troubleshooting, assisting with system design and sizing, creating hook up sketches/drawings, developing more advanced quotations and logging quotes in online quote program.
• Assists in closing business with the Account Executive and/or other sales representatives by providing technical aid and support during various stages of the sales cycle. Maintain contract files, for example 'Project Documentation Records' related to projects developed by sales personnel.
• Actively participates in the upkeep and maintenance of the Training Center, based on location. Performs product demonstrations, answers inquiries, and assures that prospective customers are shown the full capabilities and benefits of the products.
• Assists the sales representative with on-site customer visits for product testing, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Assists with on-site steam system audits and steam trap surveys in addition to providing product support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME/EE preferred) or a related field.
• Expected two (2) to five (5) years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• General knowledge of steam and SSI products; above average knowledge of either mechanical products and control solutions.
• Educational requirements for licensure as a Professional Engineer desirable.100 hours as the primary instructor of relevant industrial training courses desired.
