Role Summary:

You will oversee all aspects of accounting and finance for the new Devens, Massachusetts manufacturing facility, and will be ultimately responsible for maintaining a strong system of accounting records, controls, and financial plans; to continually improve financial performance, mitigate risk, and enhance the accuracy of the reported financial results. You are a key contributor in developing and delivering strategic business initiatives that increase shareholder value by creating a collaborative environment, optimizing productivity and trading profit.

In addition to managing and working closely with the Finance team, you will also have a crucial business partnering role with the wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Managing Director of the site. You will work with non-finance managers to develop strong business awareness and ownership of the financial impacts of their decisions, and support process efficiency improvements.

Demonstrating outstanding people skills, you will lead, mentor, coach, inspire and empower our talented people to continuously learn, develop and achieve their full potential.

As an integral part of the site leadership team, you will be continuing to deliver the new facility, controlling costs for the project against the approved proposal

This role will focus on:

  • You will be working directly with the Finance team to generate on-time monthly reporting, as well as quarterly/annual forecasts, and interim/annual statutory accounting packs and analysis, delivering reliable and accurate financial information.
  • You will partner with the Managing Director, the SLT, and wider management to drive profitable growth
  • You will develop and maintain positive relationships with the senior leadership team and department managers and be able to convey financial information to non-financial areas of the business (including use of KPIs to track performance).
  • You will be the point of contact for Group Finance with regard to analysis of results, with a dotted reporting line to the Global Supply Finance Partner. You will contribute to Group-wide Finance projects as and when required
  • You will provide meaningful commercial analysis and insight; considering both the local supply margins and the wider Group profitability; this includes dealing with pricing, profitability, product range, and overhead review
  • You will assist the team to prepare business cases for capital investment, covering narrative to support ROI capex investments
  • You will develop and implement best practice processes and principles, following internal governance guidelines, and provide inputs from your experience to aid the continual improvement of this process
  • You will ensure compliance with Group internal controls through a documented system of robust accounting policies, procedures, and delegation of authority (including mitigation of any segregation of Duty issues).
  • You will ensure compliance with government tax reporting and filing
  • You will serve as primary liaison with both internal and external auditors, driving performance improvements where appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Finance professional qualifications such as:MBA, CPA or CMA
  • BA/BS Degree
  • Significant experience in senior finance/accounting roles
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
  • Experience or knowledge of United States financial regulations and practices
  • Have experience of working with Finance systems and competent with Microsoft packages (knowledge of Microsoft
  • Dynamics AX ERP software would be beneficial but not essential)
  • Be delivery focused with strong attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure
  • Have strong commercial awareness with an appreciation of operational functions
  • Be organized, methodical, resilient and approachable with effective communication skills
  • Able to effectively and appropriately challenge business processes, outputs, and standards to help drive continual improvement
  • Can use personal initiative to work collaboratively as one team with a “can do” approach
  • Able to contribute to the learning and mentoring of staff to educate them in financial best practice
  • Experienced in managing projects and working as part of a project team
