Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse/Medical Assistant to join our single provider primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality and compassionate patient care.
Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments and provide direct patient care
- Prepares patients for examination including the identification of the chief complaint, the taking of vital signs, height, weight, and ensures smooth patient flow throughout the clinic
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Assist with patient triage and emergency procedures
- Utilize anatomy knowledge for accurate patient care
- Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- If necessary, can perform routine laboratory procedures, collects specimens, and prepares them for laboratory pick-up
- Adhere to common safety hazards and precautions to assist in establishing/maintaining a safe work environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor and execute action for incoming and outgoing referrals
Skills:
- Proficient in medication administration
- Minimum two (2) years EHR, insurance verification
- Ability to manage acute pain effectively
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation
- Skilled in providing compassionate patient care
- Familiarity with prior auth and prescription refill processes
