We specialize in multiple areas of the value chain:

  • Field employees work to calibrate equipment, program and automate systems, and perform instrumentation and equipment work on client sites.
  • Lab employees take samples that have been collected in the field and run a multitude of tests for environmental factors and quality of the product. We also have a blending lab that works to create the chemicals that other companies use to calibrate their analytical equipment.
  • The Production Analytics team audits existing field structures and design, balances our client’s entire systems, and allocates royalties to maximize profits.

SPL is expanding our footprint internationally in the production, midstream, finished products, and environmental markets. We are also focused on developing industry-leading automation and data analytics tools that will help our customers ensure the integrity of their data.


Job Summary:

The Operations Manager must be team oriented, proactive, and goal driven. This position must be able to delegate work to employees, track progress and provide constructive feedback throughout projects and on time sensitive routine work and serve as a link between subordinates and upper management. Works with EVP – MAC Operations to ensure customers’ needs are met on time and to their expectations. Serve as a liaison between customers and SPL. Ensure employees adhere to company Core Values. (Safety, Integrity, Innovation, and Service) Conduct performance reviews, motivate team members and create strategies to boost productivity. Will use independence and judgment to recognize and resolve problems within established policies and procedures and is accountable for the quality, timeliness and accuracy of own work and the work of assigned team members.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for SPL’s established customers in the assigned region;
  • Serve as the primary contact to address customer issues, and initiate a corrective action report with subsequent follow-up action items;
  • Interview, hire, train, and manage measurement technicians in assigned region;
  • Manage vehicles and equipment for assigned technicians;
  • Manage local inventory of parts;
  • Ensure that assigned service center, equipment, and vehicles are consistently clean, and meets SPL’s brand expectations;
  • Meet regularly with SPL customers to ensure that SPL exceeds customer expectations and adjust as necessary;
  • Required to maintain their work schedule with customers and SPL If any changes are made to the schedule, notification to the customer and the appropriate office is required;
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, i.e., eight (8) to sixteen (16) hours depending on job services requirements and customer needs. May be required to be part of the “On Call” program on a rotating schedule. These hours can be extended into weekends and/or holidays;
  • Must maintain and account for assigned SPL property. This includes tools, credit cards, company vehicle, cell phone, laptop, calibration equipment, and parts;
  • Required to properly prepare all necessary paperwork and documentation of service performed on a timely basis and submit same to proper office personnel for processing;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of previous work experience required and/or the combination of equivalent work experience and educational/technical training in a related field;
  • Electrical and/or mechanical experience/knowledge preferred;
  • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.;
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos;
  • Ability to write simple correspondence;
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization;
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals;
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs;
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form;
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to safely operate company vehicles.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelors Degree preferred.

Relocation:

This position is not eligible for relocation.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires travel.

Work Schedule:

This position will work 8 hours, Monday – Friday in the Artesian NM office. This position is subject to overtime availability.
