Splunk is looking for a Director, Global Partner MDF & Operations to lead, innovate, and improve our global planning, and processes. This role will establish the development of an MDF Program Management function that drives the strategy and direction of partner investments for the company. You will work closely with Partner Marketing Leadership, our Partner team, and regional/field marketing to standardize processes, automate, and provide guidelines to scale MDF programs worldwide. You will lead a cross-functional, cross-regional team effort to develop the strategy, priorities, goals, processes, and performance. You will help train the Partner Marketing team to optimize productivity, joint marketing plans with partners, operating plans, efficiently demonstrating Marketing Development Funds (MDF), and global processes. Additionally, you will serve as our business leader interface to Finance to lead global partner marketing budget.
This role requires a leader with excellent analytical abilities, marketing processes skills, outstanding business acumen, people leadership, and outstanding written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will be data-driven and have a strong understanding of marketing metrics.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead communication of the Development Fund program
- Continually ensure alignment of strategy & plans with Marketing & Sales leaders, based on business direction and prioritization
- Drive effective budget management for sales and marketing development funds – across forecasting, planning, operational management, and measurement of impact
- Establish marketing return on investment focused (versus spend focused) MDF program, that enables the company evolution of our partner strategy
- Proactively lead MDF approvals and spend in alignment with plan
- Document processes, lead monthly performance reviews, build reporting mechanisms, and provide insights for variances
- Collaborate with Finance monthly to ensure effective allocation and usage of programs budget
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field
- 8 years of professional experience in marketing analytics, business analysis, budget management, or comparable analytics position
- Demonstrated ability in program management, project management, marketing/sales operations, and process improvements for high-technology companies or products
- Proficient in Excel and data visualization such as Tableau and Smartsheets
- Proven track record to develop individuals, lead teams, influence peers, and connect with executives
- Knowledge of MDF platforms such as 360Insights & Ansira
- Strong understanding of marketing goals such as conversion rates, Cost per lead, cost of customer acquisition, and Marketing return on investment
- Experience using Salesforce and Marketing Automation platforms (e.g. Marketo) as well as work-flow automation
- Experience communicating (verbal and written) optimally with both business and technical teams
