Join our design system team as we look to scale our digital accessibility program! As a Sr. Accessibility Program Manager, your role will be crucial to growing the efficacy of our digital accessibility program. This role will report to the Design System and Accessibility manager within our Design organization here at Splunk. In addition, you will work closely with our Senior Accessibility Designer and other cross-functional partners.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of web accessibility, business and procurement processes, cross-functional relationship building, and a clear understanding of the laws, standards, and policies that govern web accessibility both in the US and globally.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain web accessibility policies and processes throughout Splunk
- Address compliance requirements in design, acquisition, development, and maintenance life cycles and processes
- Assess the evolving maturity of the Splunk a11y program, setting KPIs and metrics
- Establish procedures to document successes and remediation efforts
- Measure and report on web accessibility program activities
- Capture and track web accessibility concerns and complaints from customers
- Ensure all conformance claims are validated and routed accurately
- Ensure Splunkers have access to web accessibility training and tools by coordinating outreach and training
- Set up and maintain a11y JIRA ticket dashboards for all of Splunk
- Coordinate incoming internal a11y requests and assign priority based on input from the team
- Escalate product a11y issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 7 years of experience in program or project management
- 2 years of experience in assistive technology or product-related accessibility and inclusion efforts
- Expertise in accessibility standard methodologies, guidelines, and regulations, and a strong awareness of assistive technologies
- Consistent track record of advocacy, partnership building, and/or managing a successful consumer-facing accessibility program
- Ability to use quantitative and qualitative feedback to form insights that drive actions
- Ability to remain flexible and thrive in ambiguity
- Ability to identify and act on process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Ability to collaborate and communicate efficiently across teams
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) Certification, JAWS Certification
- Background in testing and validation of websites and native mobile apps for Accessibility compliance
- Agile development experience using tracking software such as JIRA
